Due to their unique properties, organofluorine compounds have important applications in medicine, pesticides, material science and other research fields closely related to public health, national life and national defense construction. Our research group focuses on the research and development of efficient, safe, environmentally friendly, atomic/step-economic and controllable methods and theories for the construction and transformation of organofluorine compounds. Through the development of new catalytic systems, new reaction characteristics of fluorinated reagents and new fluorination reagents, efficient methods for fluorination were established to solve the important scientific problems in organofluorine chemistry, and through these methods new functional organofluorous molecules were synthesized for the research of special fluorinated functional materials and bioactive molecules.


At present, we have mainly two research directions : 

  • Organometallic Fluorine Chemistry
          ➢ Inexpensive and bulk fluorine sources-oriented cross-couplings including developing new and efficient methods for fluorination/fluoroalkylation via transition-metal catalysis and their applications in late-stage modification of biologically active molecules;

          ➢ Metal-difluorocarbene chemistry including design, synthesis and mechanistic studies of novel metal-difluorocarbene complexes and their applications in the catalytic reactions to solve the challenging problems in organofluorine chemistry.


  • Chemical Biology in Combination with Organofluorine Chemistry including site- and chemo-selective introduction of fluorinated groups into biomacromolecules, such as peptides, proteins, and DNAs and their applications in related chemical biology.
